Two visionaries had once looked for a party which differed from the ideologies of Gandhi and
Nehru, and tried to revive the loosing sheen of hinduism. They then with the help of RSS(Rashtriya Swayamsevi Sangh) floated a party named Bhartiya Janta Party. And the two visionaries were none other than our own former prime minister Mr.Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the leader of opposition Mr. L.K.Advani.
The party has had its base into hindutva and stood for their rights which were being compromised in the name of secularism and the politics of votes by the ruling parties.Very soon BJP became the second largest party of the nation.Even during the reign of Kalyan Singh as CM Uttar Pradesh, the Babri Kand showed that they were not in a mood of compromising.
Very soon the party came into power at the centre, and helped the nation progress.Respected Atal Ji became the first Indian Prime Minister to give a speech in Hindi(our mother tongue, as if we indians still remember that) in the United Nations. He really made us proud. Then the Pokharan test added one more feather in his cap.
Atal ji never compromised with his principles, let it be the Kargil war or be it the signing of CTBT.Atal ji always portrayed a strong character.
But once he retired from politics, the party downfall began. Party kept on changing its stands. Now for them hindutva became an issue only during politics. The party has started forgetting its basics. The party leadership is not able to keep the members united.
As well during the LS polls, there was a tussle within the party over who would be the candidte for the post of the prime minister. The top brass of the party is against each other looking to dethrone each other.
I would also like to recall that when Mr. Rajnath Singh was the CM of U.P., he proved to be a disaster and was notable to bring any reforms in the party. His same disabilities are now posing threat to the party as Bjp is loosing its hold over the Aam Aadmi as well as the followers too.
Very recently when one of the seniormost leaders, Mr. Jaswant Singh in his new book called Jinnah a secular person, party chief suspended him while when the same statement was used by Mr. Advani during his tour to Pakistan, no action was taken against him. This shows the dual policy adapted by them.Mr. Rajnath Singh is not proving to be a succesful leader. Firstly, he called Smt.Vasundhra Raje to step down as the leader of opposition in Rajasthan though majority of MLA were in her favour to continue with the post and now Mr. Arun Shourie publicly criticising the party top brass end to end. This all indicates that there is something wrong going on within the party.
So now arises a need to take some actions rather than calling chintan baithaks which won't yield any fruits. Also RSS needs to step into the matter and bring about some reforms in the party and revive the theme of the party-"hindutva". Only then we can hope for a better India, shining India.
JAI HIND, JAI BHARAT
